Welcome back to all Salisbury students

All of the schools in Salisbury Township are now bustling with students. It was so great to see all the students unpacking their new school supplies and walking the halls. It’s like the first day of school, halfway through the year.

On the calendar: Feb. 12 is a snow makeup day, so all students need to report for class. Feb. 15 there is no school to commemorate Presidents Day. A school board meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17 and a curriculum and technology committee meeting will be held 7 p.m. Feb. 22.

The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania will host a free robot building party 6:30 p.m. Feb. 17. For more information, or to register for the Zoom link, email lpayea@gsep.org.

Are you or someone in your family interested in the rain forest and the animals that live there? The Da Vinci Science Center in Allentown has an exhibit which runs through Feb. 28 highlighting 15 different species of rain forest animals. You can see the exhibit through a general admission ticket or through a private VIP tour that includes a meeting with a two-toed sloth. Tickets can be purchased online at davincisciencecenter.org.

If you have any questions about recycling, Salisbury Township’s trash and recycling provider, Republic Services has listed some information and tips on the Salisbury Township website.
