Macungie Council met virtually for a special meeting Dec. 28, 2020.

The purpose of the meeting was to pass the ordinance for the budget of 2021.

The budget of 2021 for Macungie Borough was approved unanimously.

The real estate tax was approved with no increase.

Resolution 2020-15 was approved to keep the tax rate the same. Other items were left out of the budget to let this happen. The decision was based on the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Sewer Surcharge Ordinance 2020-04 was approved. The ordinance allows for sewer surcharges to be implemented in 2021 which is an ongoing item.

An executive session was held for personnel issues concerning the treasurer’s position.
