Haas hired as new BC football coach

Bethlehem Catholic will be welcoming a familiar face to their football program, as the Hawks will reportedly hire Kyle Haas as their new football coach.

Haas returns to a program he’s familiar with, as he was an assistant at Becahi from 2011-2016 under former head coach Joe Henrich, who resigned last month after nine-seasons with the program due to philosophical differences with the administration.

Haas served as interim head coach at Becahi in 2016 when Henrich took a leave of absence for the season.

The Hawks finished 11-4 in 2016, winning the District 11 4A championship and reaching the PIAA semifinals before falling to state power Imhotep Charter 24-13.

When Henrich came back for the 2017 season, Haas left to become the running backs coach at Moravian College, before moving on to become the head coach at Northampton the past three seasons.

Haas resurrected a flailing K-Kid program to an 18-10 mark in three years and helped them reach the District 11 6A playoffs in 2018 and 2019.

Becahi wrapped up one of their toughest seasons in recent memory, finishing 4-4 and losing to Central Catholic in the District 11 4A semifinals.
