LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

All Salisbury school district buildings reopen Jan. 4, 2021

Happy New Year! If you are like me, I cannot wait for this year to end! Hopefully 2021 is 100 times better. Cheers everyone, to a happy and much healthier New Year! Stay safe, but live your life, we only get one.

Salisbury Township schools will start back up Jan. 4, 2021. Hopefully your winter break is a relaxing one.

I’d like to say welcome to Lynn Fuini-Hetten to her new position as Superintendent of Salisbury Township School District. May your tenure be a rewarding experience for yourself and our district.

If you are looking for a wintry thing to do, I hear that the Lehigh Valley Zoo’s Winter Light Spectacular is just that, spectacular. There are over 1 million lights and displays throughout the zoo. Most of the animals are sleeping at this time, but some of the nocturnal friends will be there to say hello. As always, masks are required. The display is open through Jan. 2, 2021.

There is a special school board meeting to be held virtually 7 p.m. Jan. 6, 2021 to review the tentative return to face-to-face instruction of grades K-8 Jan. 19, 2021. The regular monthly board meeting will be held virtually Jan. 13, 2021 following the operations meeting which begins 7 p.m.

Salisbury Township would like residents to know there will not be trash pickup Jan. 1, 2021. Please put all garbage out on your next scheduled pickup day, Jan. 5, 2021.

“The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can help write that story by setting goals.” Melody Beattie
