Lehigh Township Police Department: Resident arrested in domestic violence incident

Daniel Engroff, 43, of Lehigh Township, has been arrested for a domestic violence simple assault and harassment.

According to a news release from Lehigh Township Police Department, at 12:11 p.m. Nov. 30, Lehigh Township police were dispatched to the 4100 block of Wood Drive, Lehigh Township, for an alleged domestic assault in progress. Police said a female told them her boyfriend, whom she identified as Engroff, had a gun and struck her in the neck.

Engroff voluntarily surrendered to police without further incident.

He was arraigned before Judge Robert Hawke. Bail was set at $10,000. Engroff was unable to post bail and transported to Northampton County Prison.

Engroff also had an outstanding warrant from Carbon County, police said.

Lehigh Township police were assisted by officers from Moore Township and Walnutport police departments.
