Zephyr roundup: Boys soccer tops Central

The Whitehall field hockey team picked up a win over Allen, 6-0.

The Zephs dominated the match, outshooting Allen 12-2 and collecting 11 corners.

Christine Hudak scored two goals as did Emily Bonshak.

Madeline Steiner had a goal and an assist while Jasmine Abdalla added a goal.

The girls soccer team fell to Emmaus, 2-0.

Gianna Buysee and Kameron Watkins scored goals for the Hornets while Maddi Woodward and Gianna Buysee added assists.

The boys soccer team dropped a game to Emmaus 1-0 in overtime.

Emmaus’ Hudson Peck scored a goal on a penalty kick that proved to be the game-winner.

Whitehall’s Elijah Siler made eight saves in the loss.

Parkland beat the Zephs 5-2, getting off to a 3-1 lead in the first half.

Parkland’s Kyle Rothwell scored on a penalty kick to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead. Whitehall bounced back to tie the game at 1-1 as Elie Khalil scored on an assist from Carlos Mendez.

Parkland would get the next two goals to take a 3-1 lead. Joel Santiago scored as did Azhar Sumar on a penalty kick.

The Zephs would cut it to 3-2 on a goal from Jake Gier that was assisted by Khalil. But the Trojans pulled away with goals from Yuzuki Murata and Zack Morales.

Whitehall’s Elijah Siler made nine saves.

The Zephs edged Central 3-2.

The Vikes scored first in the game on a goal from Scandone, which was assisted by Wolf.

But the Zephs scored the next three to take a 3-1 lead. Zach Onsinyo struck twice with both goals assisted by Carlos Mendez. Jake Gier would give the Zephs a 3-1 lead before Central’s Quinn cut it to 3-2.

The Zephs outshot Central 15-9. Elijah Siler made six saves.
