Jewish Federations host Rosh Hashanah virtual cooking demonstration

The Lehigh Valley Jewish Federation recently sponsored a cooking demonstration in partnership with the Intermediate Jewish Federations across the United States.

This Rosh Hashanah virtual demonstration was taught by James Beard Foundation award winning Chef Michael Solomonov.

He prepared three Rosh Hashanah dishes: Honey Glazed Chicken and Kale; Apple, Walnut and Sumac-Onion Tabbouleh; and a Honey Cake with Apple Confit, from his kitchen.

These recipes were created especially for this event.

The Lehigh Valley Jewish Federation, along with 32 Jewish Federations across the United States, included 5,000 participants, an amazing number.

Along with Chef Solomonov, Gabriella Gershenson, a James Beard award nominated food journalist and author of many Jewish cookbooks, moderated the event.

She also answered questions from participants.

Chef Solomonov is the owner of Zahov, a popular Israeli restaurant in Philadelphia, and the 2019 James Beard Foundation Award winner for an outstanding restaurant.
