Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association is accepting donations for Thanksgiving meals for the patrons on the food bank list.

The dinners will consist of turkey or chicken, yams, corn, cranberry sauce and other items for the families.

Following successful takeout dinners at St. John’s Lutheran Church and St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, both churches will have filling for sale in November, in time for Thanksgiving. St. Peter also will add sauerkraut.

There are no dinners taking place next month.

Coplay Borough Council is continuing to hold its monthly meetings on a virtual basis.

The borough indicated it has no word on when meetings will resume at council chambers in the municipal building.

The public has access to the municipal building office and police station but not to any other place in the borough hall.

Parents of several children are considering asking the borough to replace the beige pebbles on the ground of the tot lot behind the borough building. It was said the replacement should be shredded tires, as is the case with other parks throughout the region.
