Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is returning to normal with its programs and activities.

The outdoor pavilion entertainment held on Fridays with acoustic guitars and the Sunday Austrian live bands will continue to the end of October, after which the programs will be held in the ballroom in compliance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

The annual grape dance, a custom brought to the club from Burgenland, Austria, held each fall will most likely not occur this month because of the virus. The dance has patrons picking plastic grapes hanging above, after which culprits steal them and are jailed in a mock ceremony.

The club also reported league bowling is back in some limited fashion.

Coplay Fire Department’s annual open house, held in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week/Month, is canceled due to the virus.

The event draws a large number of families, at which boys and girls get behind the wheel of a firetruck and participate in games and other activities.
