Talking to Myself

Sometimes I sit here talking to myself,

But, I run out of things to say.

Everyone has chosen to stay at home,

Until this virus goes away.

It’s been a long journey, since it smacked us in the face;

Hopefully, it won’t be too long, until the virus is erased.

Our world is not the same right now.

Our lives are turned around.

Our standard way of living,

Has been turned upside down.

We always took things for granted,

Everything was hunky-dory.

But, now with the COVID virus,

It’s a completely different story!

We cannot be too careful, we must wear a mask.

Wash our hands, and sanitize … it’s becoming quite a task!

We cannot hug or shake hands,

We need to stay apart,

This awful situation

is tearing at my heart.

I need a hug and kiss now and then,

To let people know I care,

I wish this deadly virus

would simply disappear.

Be sure to follow all the rules,

Learn all that we can learn;

If we do everything we should,

Our normal life could return.
