LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

East Penn Student of the Week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am a senior at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mom and dad are Lisa and Brian Amey and I have a younger sister, Brianna.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. I love math and physics. I love having to think about solving a problem and being able to know how I will apply these skills into my life.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am a member of National Honor Society.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. I play baseball for our high school. When our season was canceled this spring due to COVID-19, my team and I were devastated. We made it to states last year and were looking to build off that season. However, there was an event organized called the Lehigh Valley High School Baseball Tournament. We participated in that and ended up winning.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. I earned a junior black belt in karate. Even though I have stepped away from martial arts, I still hold this accomplishment close to my heart because it took a lot of time and dedication.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school, I plan to go to college to get a degree in aerospace engineering and to play baseball.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire both of my parents. Each of them has supported me in every aspect of life. Whether it’s the last minute runs to sporting goods stores to get new batting gloves when they rip, or driving me all over for my baseball games, or helping me through the college process, they’ve supported me through it all. I hope one day to do the same for my family.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. As a kind person, who was always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Whether it’s sports, school, or any of your goals in life, always give your best. That way you never have any regrets when looking back.
