Cetronia Ambulance Corps to celebrate 65th anniversary

Cetronia Ambulance Corps is celebrating its 65th anniversary of saving lives in the community this year and is pleased to announce its Health On Wheels gala will be held virtually Aug. 22.

This year’s honorary gala host will be local Emmy Award-winning TV personality and design expert Carson Kressley.

Kressley started his career as an independent stylist and became invaluable to major designers such as Ralph Lauren.

A few years later, he took a leap into television when, in 2003, he became a breakout star as the fashion savant on Bravo’s “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” which won a prime-time Emmy and gained a worldwide following for Kressley, which continues to this day.

With his close relationship and collaborations with Oprah Winfrey, Kressley revolutionized America’s personal fashion sense of style.

He’s hosted multiple television shows including Lifetime’s “How to Look Good Naked” and ABC’s “True Beauty” and appeared as a fashion critic and commentator on shows including “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and “Good Morning America.”

Kressley has competed on several reality shows including NBC’s hit show “Celebrity Apprentice,” Food Network’s “Celebrity Cupcake Wars,” ABC’s “Celebrity Family Feud” and the 13th season of “Dancing with the Stars,” where he was a fan favorite, raising awareness and donations for several charities.

Currently, he is a key judge on the TV series “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” which continues to win multiple Emmy Awards.

New fan favorites include his interior design show, “Get a Room with Carson & Thom,” Freeform’s “Wrap Battle” and his new home entertainment talk show, “Couched,” where he interviews A-list celebrities and elite interior designers.

Kressley will be sure to have the audience laughing during his segments of “Cocktails, Conversations and Getting Curious with Carson.”

The night will also have some spectacular items to bid on during the silent auction such as a day trip with Kressley to New York City including limo ride, lunch at Bergdorf Goodman and a shopping spree with a fashion consult.

Attendees will be able to vote on their favorite face mask photo for $1 per vote or donate to help purchase items to support the lifesaving mission.

“We are honored and enthusiastic to have Carson Kressley serve as our honorary host at our 65th Anniversary Gala virtual celebration,” said Robert F. Mateff Sr., interim chief executive officer of Cetronia Ambulance Corps. “The world of EMS often sits in the shadows, and we hope that, with Carson’s online presence, we can raise awareness about the crucial state our industry is in. Our hope is that with this knowledge, we will grow public support of our nonprofit lifesaving mission.”

The event will be free to attend.

It will be streamed on YouTube, Facebook and Service Electric Cable TV, the platinum sponsor for the evening.
