Northampton Area Public Library: Summer reading entries are due Aug. 15

We’re heading into the final days of summer reading! Get your entries in before Aug. 15. This year, the library is using Reader Zone to track reading online - use the code 784cc.

In conjunction with Reader Zone, NAPL will also offer paper forms for Summer Quest for kids, teens and adults for more chances to win. Forms can be found on our website, northamptonapl.org, or picked up at the library.

Reminder: Northampton Area Public Library is open to the public.

Patrons are allowed to browse for books and utilize computers by appointment only. Curbside pickup is still available.

Masks are required at all times while inside the building. Please be considerate of other patrons and follow distancing guidelines.

Craft bags with story suggestions are available for pickup for children in preschool through second grade. There will be a new craft every week through the end of August.

***

Join the Amazing Magi for his “Once Upon a Reader” magic show, which will run through August on the library website and Facebook.

The library now offers the database NoveList Plus. NoveList’s librarian-created read-alike suggestions and appeal mixer can help you find your next favorite book.

Find NoveList on the library’s website, log in with your library card and explore for your next read.

***

The library is offering the My First Library Card system. From birth to age 4, children residing in the Northampton Area School District may sign up for their first library card.

Cardholders may check out up to 10 children’s books. Books are checked out for three weeks and do not incur overdue fees.

Materials not returned after six months will be considered lost and the account will be charged for the price of the item.

***

The library added a wireless Internet access point, so patrons may connect to the Internet on the grounds of the library. Access the network with password napl1234.

Utilize the Internet from the comfort of your car in our parking lot or from the benches in front of the library. It is great for social distancing or when the library is closed.
