Game Commission issues advisory for Jordan Creek

The Pennsylvania Game Commission announced in a social media post Aug. 1 it received a report of a potentially harmful algal bloom on the Jordan Creek, along State Game Lands 205, in Lowhill Township.

According to the game commission’s post, toxins produced by this type of harmful algal bloom can be dangerous to both humans and canines, and potentially fatal to canines when exposed to high levels.

The public is advised to stay away from Jordan Creek on SGL 205, and any body of water where harmful algal blooms are suspected.

Water samples were taken and test results are pending.
