HEIDELBERG TOWNSHIP: Food pantry seeks donations

Spread the word! Christ’s Church at Lowhill Food Pantry, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, needs nonperishable items.

The food pantry serves residents of the Northwestern School District and is managed and staffed completely by a volunteer workforce.

Items most needed include: any kind of cereal, canned pastas and beans, soups, Ramen noodles, canned meats, tuna, spaghetti sauce and pasta. Also wanted are personal care products, too.

Any donations are appreciated and may be dropped off at the pantry 9-11 a.m. on the first Tuesday of every month and the last Saturday of every month.

The next drop off dates are June 27 and July 7.

Please leave the items outside the pantry’s front door without entering.

For additional information or to schedule a specific drop off appointment, call food pantry Chairwoman Nancy Holbrook at 610-674-2440.

Well worth it! Heidelberg Union Church recycles ink cartridges to help with the cost of supplies for its office.

Each cartridge provides the church with a small credit.

Instead of throwing your old cartridges away, take them to any Staples and tell them to credit Heidelberg Union Church.

Any questions, contact Ruth Kehm at luthruthk@gmail.com or call 610-767-1526.

Kind reminder! Germansville Fire Company is continuing with its membership drive.

As with your dues, donations toward the fire company may be sent to Goodwill Fire Company, P.O. Box 69, Germansville, PA 18053.

Any resident who has not yet received a membership form by mail, should call the fire company at 610-767-7757 and leave your name and number. Someone will get back to you.

Residents who are interested in purchasing reflective house or mailbox numbers from the fire company should call Jay Scheffler at 484-239-5020.

These numbers are big and easy to read and help emergency crews find your home quickly. A bracket to hang the numbers is also available to purchase.

With the fire company in mind, hats off to Eight Oaks Farm Distillery in New Tripoli for donating hand sanitizer to the firefighters

“We are proud to have such kind and supportive community partners,” says the fire company.

“As always, stay safe, stay well, and support the local businesses that support your community first!”

Just a thought! Beautiful has nothing to do with looks. It has everything to do with how you are as a person and how you make others feel about themselves.
