I had left a message with a local community center regarding renting a pavilion. Before heading out on some errands, I told my husband there might be a return call and gave him instructions on what to do.

When I returned, Matt filled me in on his conversation with the woman who returned my call. When she identified herself, my husband said, “My wife’s not here right now but …” The woman finished his sentence, “But she left you a list.” I guess that must be a common occurrence.

The next township column will be published July 15; copy deadline is July 9.
