William G. Stahler

William G. Stahler, 85, of Vera Cruz, died March 2, 2020, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Bernadine M. (Mohr) Stahler for 64 years. Born in Fleetwood, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Minnie (Stump) Stahler.

He was a welder for 40 years at EFM, Emmaus and was a member of Old Zionsville United Church of Christ.

He was a member of Citizens Fire Co., Upper Milford Township for the past 65 years where he served as president, treasurer, secretary, trustee, fire chief and Pennsylvania Deputy Fire Marshal and fire police.

He was a former secretary of the Lehigh County Fireman’s Association.

He was an EMT with the Emmaus Ambulance Corps for 23 years and most recently served as emergency management coordinator for Upper Milford Township.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Colette Weir (Robert Jr.); son, Larry (Angela); grandchildren, Brad, Amanda and Patricia Weir, Denessa Chunko and Drew; one great-grandson. He was predeceased by a daughter, Stessa Louise and sisters, Shirley Crowley and Suzanne Seaman.

Viewings will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 6 and 9 to 10 a.m. March 7 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A funeral service will follow the viewing March 7 at Old Zionsville UCC, 5981 Fountain Road., Old Zionsville.
