West Point Society of the Lehigh Valley

Georgia L. Wiswesser, a student at Northampton Area High School, was named a recipient of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award for a student leader of character for 2020.

West Point Society of the Lehigh Valley awards the Eisenhower Leadership Award annually to a junior in each of the participating school districts. This student, in the opinion of each high school principal and faculty, has demonstrated outstanding attributes of character, service and leadership in the areas of academics, athletics, community service and good citizenship.

The award consists of a certificate, a letter of commendation and an invitation to attend a recognition event at the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. The student’s name is also engraved on a plaque displayed at each school.

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the recognition event was canceled for the health and safety of the participants.
