Richard D. Ruch, 58, of Quakertown, died Oct. 23, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Quakertown.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Dallas and Miriam (Heckman) Ruch.

He was last employed in Bethlehem, as a folder in a laundry mat for 15 years, retiring in April 2018. Before that, he worked as a packer for Kurtz Training Court, Bethlehem, for six years.

He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Howertown.

He has been involved with the LifePath organization of the Lehigh Valley for many years. He participated in the Special Olympics for years, and he was on the 1985 team that earned the state championship in basketball.

He is survived by two brothers, Earl and his wife Jean of Northampton and Donald and his wife Elaine of Macungie; three sisters, Louise Smith of Bethlehem, Anna of Phoenixville and Lorraine and her husband William Miller of Kutztown; a niece; and a nephew.
