Raymond S. Heil, 86, formerly of Catasauqua, died Oct. 22, 2019, at ManorCare Health Services, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Darlene (Shlegel) Heil.
Born in Egypt, he was a son of the late Roy O. and Sally (Walck) Heil.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a mechanic for Brockway Motor Trucks, Bethlehem, for more than 12 years before retiring.
He was a quartermaster for Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714, a trustee of Post 4714 Home Association and a member and post chaplain of Hokendauqua American Legion Post 739. He was a member of the Honorary First Defenders of Easton, Bethlehem chapter; Lehigh Valley Military Affairs Council; Fearless Fire Company of South Allentown; and Lehigh County Senior Center.
He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia A. Jenkins of Allentown; a brother, Clinton of Michigan; nieces; and nephews.
