Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek has determined the cause of death for the father and son who died in a January house fire in Danielsville.
According to Lysek, Bruce Alan Miller, 10, of Hatfield, Montgomery County, died of smoke inhalation Jan. 21 after a reported explosion and fire at 1132 Blue Mountain Drive.
His father, Bruce Allen Miller Jr., 37, of Lehighton, Carbon County, died of smoke inhalation with an “acute methamphetamine and amphetamine intoxication,” Lysek said.
The manner of death has been ruled undetermined, he added.
Township police and fire departments were dispatched 12:47 a.m. Jan. 21, according to earlier reports, and the fire was brought under control approximately 3:20 a.m.
The home was a two-story farmhouse built in the early 1900s.
After an extensive investigation by state and Lehigh Township fire marshals and investigators, Lysek said, the place of origin of the fire has also been ruled undetermined.
