Upper Macungie board adopts several resolutions

Several resolutions were adopted by the board during the Upper Macungie Township supervisors’ December 2018 meeting.

Disposal of township records, authorization for submission of an application for a traffic signal at the intersections of Mill Creek Road and Grange Road, and Mill Creek Road and Uline Way.

Also included in the resolution list was approval of the development of Jenstar Properties, Inc. and the subdivision of Robert and Shawn Keller.

The Jenstar property is located on Grammes Lane. The Keller lot is on Folk Road.

The reorganization, along with the general business meeting, will be 7 p.m. Jan. 7 followed by the general business meeting.

The township manager was authorized to sign the contract with the Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority in relation to bus shelters, after solicitor review.

Also authorized were the draw on the Pulte Homes letter of credit, allowing the Sanctuary at Haafsville to pick up stray animals for a maximum fee of $5,500 per year.

The Uline second phase was granted an extension of time until Sept. 31, 2021.

The bid for the low pressure sanitary sewer improvements on Daniel Street and Werley Road were awarded and the bid for the sanitary sewer lateral rehabilitation in the Oakland Park area was granted.

A motion was also made to allow the township manager to sign the contract with AACE Security to install security system updates for a cost of $9,175.

Empire Wrecking received the bid on the low-pressure sanitary sewer for $92,543.06 and the Oakland Park project was given to Eagle Contracting for $246,726.03.

Police Chief Edgardo Colón reported to supervisors the coat drive will be going until Jan. 6.

Some 958 calls for service were noted for November 2018.

Leading the pack for activity was traffic citations with 501. Reported crimes had 22 disturbing the peace items and 20 DUI reports.

The K-9 corps was busy with two tracking, three narcotics, two stop assists and one public demonstration.

The motor carrier program had 25 total inspections with 30 violations discovered and six citations given out.

Driving enforcement produced 114 citations with one high speed driver clocked at 107 mph.

Fire Commissioner Grant Grim reported to the board 787 fire inspections were done to date.

There were 79 Priority 1 EMS responses, 64 for Priority 2, and 92 with Priority 3, for a total of 235 responses.

There were 40 emergency responses from Fogelsville Fire Company; Trexlertown with 42; and Upper Macungie Station 56 showing 47. Stations 25 and 56 each gained six new members.
