Residents attend Bath Museum open house, ribbon cutting

A full house was present at Bath Borough Hall, 121 S. Walnut St., for the Bath Museum open house and ribbon cutting Nov. 17. Museum committee leader Diane Lager acted as emcee for the event.

State Rep. Marcia Hahn, R-138rd, Bath Borough Mayor Fiorella Reginelli-Mirabito and borough Manager Brad Flynn were in attendance and provided remarks.

All three expressed their thanks to the museum committee for its dedication and passion toward preserving Bath’s history and to those who attended the open house.

The keynote speaker was Ed Pany, curator of Atlas Cement Company Memorial Museum and local historical expert. He urged those present to learn more about and promote Bath’s rich history.

Pany provided an overview of Bath’s history from its founding to its current status.

“Bath’s rich history is because of its businesses, churches, fraternal organizations and government all working together to make Bath better,” Pany said.

He, with great detail, described Bath’s history, including references to ancestors of Bath residents who were present at the event.

At the conclusion of the program, those present were treated to light refreshments and much reminiscing about Bath’s history.
