Last week’s story on the Oct. 4 Northampton Borough Council meeting contained errors about a fire department presentation that was held Sept. 24 during a meeting of the fire committee.

Incorrect information was provided to the council members, meeting attendees and the media, according to Councilwoman Judy Kutzler.

Kutzler attended the Sept. 24 meeting, during which time borough Fire Chief Keith Knoblach showed a PowerPoint presentation on a 20-year capital improvement plan for the fire department. Kutzler said Knoblach’s presentation was “thorough and professional.”

At no time during the fire committee meeting was there a discussion on a proposed fire tax, as was indicated on documents presented during the borough council meeting, Kutzler said.

The Sept. 24 meeting was not open to the public; however, Knoblach was expected to make a presentation to borough council members at their Oct. 17 meeting.
