Dorothy Winther Larkins

Dorothy Winther Larkins, 71, of Alburtis, died May 24, 2018, in Palatka, Fla. Born in Wilmington, Del., she was the daughter of the late Robert E. Winther and the late Dorothy Nase Winther.

She was a graduate of Dickinson High School, Wilmington, Del. She attended East Orange Secretarial School, East Orange, N.J. and upon graduation worked for Certain Teed Corporation, King of Prussia. She then returned to school to earn a bachelor degree in psychology at Immaculata College, Media. From there she attended West Chester University, West Chester, to obtain her master’s degree, then Auburn University, Auburn, Ala., to receive her Ph.D.

She spent most of her career in northern New Jersey working for various pharmaceutical companies as an industrial psychologist, retiring in 2003.

She spent the following years traveling the world with her husband.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Elizabeth Goodsell Holmes and stepson, David H. Jr. (Michelle) and Melissa; grandchildren, Jacob, Nathan and Zachary Holmes; four step-grandchildren, Emily, Eliza, Charlotte and Sadie; sister, Judith Lapinski (Paul); nieces; nephews; cousins and close friends.

A memorial picnic will be held at Lock Ridge Park, Alburtis, in the near future for those who wish to gather together in Dorothy’s memory.
