The Northampton football team suffered an unfortunate case of déjà vu against the Parkland Trojans on Oct. 20 at Al Erdosy Stadium.
For the second week in a row, the K-Kids fumbled on their first play of the game. And for the second week in a row, the entire second half was played under mercy rule.
The Trojans (9-0) defeated the K-Kids 48-6 behind a strong performance from quarterback Michael Ruisch. The senior tossed three touchdown passes, including a 71-yard strike to Tyler Hays to give Parkland a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
Jahan Worth rushed for over 100 yards and recorded two touchdowns. The Trojans led 35-0 at halftime.
Josh Gaycheck got the K-Kids on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter with a rushing touchdown. Sophomore Tyrese Brandon recorded an acrobatic interception of Ruisch in the second half to thwart a Trojan drive.
Northampton (2-7) travels to Whitehall on Oct. 27 to take on the Zephyrs.
