The Parkland football team has been unblemished through the first eight weeks of the regular season, and this Friday night, the Trojans have their final road game of the regular season when the visit Northampton’s Erdosy Field.
If the Trojans (8-0 overall, 6-0 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference South Division) take care of business and win Friday night, they will lock in the number one seed in the District 11 Class 6A tournament, which begins in two weeks.
Parkland enters this weekend’s contest coming off a 49-0 victory at Pocono Mountain East last Friday.
The Kids (2-6, 0-6) are coming into Friday’s game riding a five-game losing streak after winning two of their first three games this season.
Last weekend Northampton lost to Easton 42-7 and fell behind 35-0 at halftime. Quarterback Josh Smith scored the lone touchdown on a one-yard run.
Northampton is averaging just 13 points per game and has given up 30 points on defense.
Don’t look for Parkland to look ahead to its season finale with Emmaus next weekend as head coach Tim Moncman preaches each game that the players’ approach is one game at a time.
