Phyllis E. Shankweiler, 92, formerly of Allentown, died May 20, 2017, at Woodland Terrace at the Oaks, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Ernest W. Shankweiler. Born in East Mauch Chunk, she was the daughter of the late Fred W. and Laura (Swank) Wolf.

She worked as a secretary in the engineering department at Mack Trucks, Inc., Allentown from 1966, retiring in 1986. Prior to that, she worked at Lynn’s Shoe Store, Allen Laundry and Air Products and Chemicals.

She attended the Nazareth School District and was a graduate of Allen High School, Allentown.

She was an active member of Grace United Church of Christ, Allentown. She was a member of the former St. Andrew’s U.C.C. and was a charter member and deacon at Hope Church, Allentown.

She is survived by sons, Eugene and his wife Sharon, of Emmaus and Richard and his wife Gail, of Alllentown; brother Donald Wolf, of Hamburg; grandchildren, Jayne, Tim and Heather; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Weston and Lincoln. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Amy and a great-granddaughter.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
