Grapplers pin PMW

With just over a week until wrestlers compete in the individual District 11 tournament, Parkland wrapped up its dual-meet schedule with a 59-21 win over Pocono Mountain West.

The Trojans, which have a few grapplers on the sidelines with injuries, won seven of 10 contested bouts against the Panthers, including six pins.

Parkland’s Ethan Moscat (182) pinned his opponent in just 51 seconds and was one of three Trojans to post first-period pins. Gabe Montanez (106) dispatched his foe in 1:06, while Brian Diaz (120) won his match in 1:01.

Lucas Kern (113) got the job done early in the second period, recording a pin in 2:05. Other Trojans winning by fall were Kevin Vrablik (152) and David Polanki (160). Zach Ortman (145) won by technical fall, 18-1 in 5:12, while teammates Blake Shalbert (126), Adam Lizak (170) and Alex Van Woert (195) picked up forfeit wins.
