Parkland Community Library offering events for kids, adults

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, will be offering toddler story time with stories, songs and games for children 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers 10:30-11 a.m. April 13 and 15.

Kids in fourth through seventh grade are invited to join library staff for a discussion on the novel “From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler” and munch on brunch treats 10:30 a.m. April 16.

Join the library staff for a brown bag lunch and classic movie “The Maltese Falcon,” starring Humphrey Bogart at 1 p.m. April 18.

Bring lunch. The library will provide the beverages.

Dress in pajamas and bring a cuddly friend to hear nighttime stories at the library’s sleepy story time event for children ages 2-5 at 6 p.m. April 19.

Younger and older siblings are welcome to attend. Parents must remain in the library.

Book Quest will meet 7-8 p.m. April 19 to discuss the novel “Go Set a Watchman” by Harper Lee. All these events are free and will be held at the library.

Upper Macungie will be hosting pick-up basketball 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday nights until June 9 for adults age 21 and over at Jaindl Elementary School, 1051 Weilers Road, Breinigsville.

Ziegels Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will host its annual tea luncheon and quilt show April 23.

The luncheon will be from 12:30- 2 p.m. with the quilt exhibit open from 2-4 p.m.

The guest speaker during the luncheon will be Becky Shorts

Tickets for the quilt show only will be available at the door.

Zion’s Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, Seeders and Sow On group is sponsoring a bus trip to Longwood Gardens April 20. The bus will depart the church parking lot at 9 a.m. They leave Longwood at 3:30 p.m.
