The driver of an SUV was seriously injured Jan. 7 when her vehicle collided with a semi-truck tractor on Route 512, East Allen Township.

According to a report released by state police, Jessica F. Yoo, 31, of Nazareth, was traveling northbound on Route 512, just north of the intersection with Silver Crest Road, when her vehicle struck the trailer portion of the truck, operated by Joshua Shaw, 41, of Blakeslee, which was pulling onto Route 512, crossing the northbound lane to head south.

Emergency personnel from Allen Township and East Allen Township fire departments as well as Northampton Regional EMS responded to the crash. Yoo had to be extricated from her vehicle. She was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with extensive injuries.
