Spend this Sunday afternoon at the George Taylor House, Lehigh and Poplar streets, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The red rose ceremony will be held. This is a 1700s tradition where a single red rose was presented by a tenant to his landlord in lieu of rent.

Fill your picnic basket, BYOB, grab your blanket or chair and relax while listening to classical guitar and jazz music by guitarist Doug Kaetz.

Light refreshments will be served.

This is a rain or shine event, under tents.

House tours will also be given.

Congratulations to the Borough of Catasauqua on its Tree City USA award for the 18th year Saturday, April 25 by Timothy Latz, of the Pennsylvania State Service Forestry, during the borough's annual Arbor Day celebration.

Accepting the award was Catasauqua Mayor Barbara Schlegel and Bob Bastian, chairman of the Catasauqua Shade Tree Commission.
