The Suburban North YMCA is sponsoring a 5-K/scenic walk/kids fun run Saturday, June 13.
The 5-K run will start and end at the Y on Walnut Street. At the post- race party, refreshments will be available and awards will be distributed. Age groups start at 8 years of age up to seniors.
Also, free chiropractic massages will be offered to all participants.
There is a preregistration fee up to June 3 (T-shirts will be guaranteed to all entrants by that date). Registration after June 3 is priced higher. Although the kids run is free, registration is required.
The walk is a two-mile stroll through the borough.
The free kids fun run is for children 3 to 7 years of age and will be held at Catasauqua Alumni Field.
On the day of the race, registration opens at 7:30 a.m. At 8:30 a.m., the 5-K starts; at 8:35 a.m., the scenic walk begins; and 9:45 a.m., the kids fun run starts.
All proceeds from the event are used to sponsor children and families who are unable to afford the YMCA membership or programs.
To register, contact the Y at 610-264-5221 or by email at melissabrown@greatervalleyymca.org.
