Youth hoops camp to be held

After a recent successful season, Northampton head boys basketball coach Coy Stampone is looking to further develop his program's future.

Stampone will direct the annual Northampton Area High School boys' basketball youth camp from June 15-19, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The camp is open to boys entering 3rd grade through 9th grade for the 2015-2016 school year.

Current NAHS basketball players and Stampone's coaching staff will be counselors at the camp. Anticipated guest speakers will be DeSales University head men's basketball coach Scott Coval, Albright College head men's basketball coach Rick Ferry and Northampton Community College men's head basketball coach Brennan McCarthy

The camp will emphasize the teaching of basketball fundamentals and will feature drills such as ball handling, passing, shooting, defense and rebounding.

Prizes will be awarded to winners in many competitions and contests.

All campers will receive a free Northampton Basketball Camp t-shirt.

"We have had good support in the past and we welcome all campers," said Stampone, who completed his third season as head coach. "We have had great support from the community, and we are looking to teach the basics of the game to future Konkrete Kid players."

Information and the registration form can be found on the Northampton boys' basketball website http://www.kkidsbasketball.weebly.com, or by contacting Stampone at 610-262-7812.
