Last Friday's night game between Northampton and Nazareth wasn't an ordinary league volleyball game. The winner of the game would advance to the league playoffs.
Playing in front of a very loud and spirited crowd in Nazareth, the Kids jumped out to a 25-14 win in game one.
David Cattano's setting, along with the back row play of Justin Monte and Joe Butto, contributed to Northampton's 25-23 win in a back and forth contest in game two.
Despite Charlie Saloum's defensive efforts, the Blue Eagles crawled back in game three winning 26-24. With chants from the Northampton JV team, the momentum changed. Strong net play by Andrew Faust and Mitchell King helped propel the Konkrete Kids to win the deciding game 25-21, securing a spot in the league playoffs.
Coach Faust's stars of the game featured Josh Morgan with 19 kills, three digs and two blocks; Austin Cooper had 10 kills, three blocks and Matt Mottau had nine kills.
