The borough is looking for three candidates to fill the number of lifeguard slots at the borough parkway pool.

Applicants must be at least 16 years of ago.

The applicants must also be Red Cross certified.

Applications can be submitted to the municipal office. Call 610-262-6088 for more information.

The pool opens for the weekend June 6 and 7, and the official opening day for the summer is June 13.

A new vendor will operate at the parkway pool concession stand.

The owners of the newly opened The Bacon Strip on North Second Street have agreed to run the concession stand.

The business will announce its offerings shortly.

John Milander, former owner of Milander's Market, ran the food stand the past couple of summers.

Trinity United Church of Christ will hold a vendor/craft fair and bingo event at the Coplay pavilion Saturday, May 16.

The vendor and craft show begins at 10 a.m. Bingo starts at 3 p.m.

Coplay Town Watch will hold its 20th anniversary Wednesday, May 20, in borough council chambers at the municipal building, Fourth and Center streets.

A speaker from the Gatekeepers will address those present at 7 p.m.

The Feral Cat Committee will be recognizing its 10th anniversary Friday, May 22, 6 p.m., with a dinner at Sam Owens.

The committee is believed to be the only such type of organization in the region focused on spaying or neutering felines.

On Wednesday, May 20, street sweeping will take place on Front, Third, Fifth, Cherry, Seventh, Ninth, 11th, 13th, Chestnut, Keefer, Maple, Oak, Center, Poplar, Bridge and Hokendauqua streets and Center Circle.

Street sweeping will also take place May 21 on Second, Fourth, Sixth, Wall, Eighth, 10th, 12th, Lehigh and Coplay streets, along with Saylor Circle, Magna Circle, Magna Circle East and West, Tapler, Margaret, Barbara, Catherine and Bernice drives and Ruch Street.
