The Governor Wolf Historical Society will hold its third annual Country Garden Faire on Friday and Saturday, May 15 and 16, on the grounds of the society's campus, 6600 Jacksonville Road. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine.
The event will feature vendors offering a wide variety of plants, including annuals, perennials, herbs and vegetables, all displayed in and around three historic buildings and the Nye Herb and Pleasure Garden. There will also be a selection of pottery, crafts, jewelry, garden antiques, birdhouses, tools and many other garden-related items. New this year is a nearby award-winning private garden that will be open to attendees.
There will be a children's petting zoo, live music, lectures on garden-related topics, Civil War re-enactors and food catered by The Daily Grind in the Schoolhouse Café. The Bonsai Society of the Lehigh Valley will have a display in the Wolf Academy.
A show card, which entitles you to a discount on the $6 admission fee, can be found on the society's website, www.govwolf.org. There is no charge for children 12 and under.
There will be plenty of free parking.
