LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

lehigh valley steelers return

After a dormant three years, the Lehigh Valley's only minor league football championship team will return this fall to the Major League Football League.

The 2015 Lehigh Valley Steelers season begins mid-July at the Bob Warke Stadium in Whitehall, which will serve as the home stadium for the team.

The Steelers will be holding a public try out on Sunday, April 12, at 2 p.m. Registration starts at 1 p.m. at Game Time Field House, 155 Nestle Way, Breinigsville.

Head Coach Chris Drayton is proud to announce, "The Lehigh Valley Steelers has been revamped with a full board of directors and a more than experienced coaching staff."

The Steelers formerly played in the Colonial Football Alliance and won the first Minor league football Championship for the Lehigh Valley in 2004, Under Coach Al Forsythe.

The Steelers then regained the championship title for three consecutive years in 2009, 2010, and 2011 under Drayton. The Steelers have produced over 40 pro indoor athletes in previous seasons.

Players have continued on to play for teams such as The Lehigh Valley Outlawz, Reading Express, New Jersey Revolution, Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, Alaska Wild and more.

The Lehigh Valley Steelers provide an opportunity for young adults to achieve their dreams and goals to play football at the next level- may it be to gain experience and exposure for furthering their education or to be scouted for a professional tryout- this is all done while providing a family friendly event for the Lehigh Valley community and beyond.
