The second-annual Playhouse Competition and Design Showcase features the designs of four local architects and architectural firms at Christkindlmarkt, SteelStacks, Bethlehem.

The competition, sponsored by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter, ArtsQuest, and Christkindlmarkt, features full-scale children's playhouses.

The houses, on display through Dec. 21 in the Christkindlmarkt Courtyard, are available for children to play in.

Participating are: Spillman Farmer Architects, Bethlehem; Lehigh University's interdisciplinary team of faculty and students; Breslin Ridyard Fadero Architects, Allentown, and Jason Steigerwalt, Cornerstone Consulting Engineers and Architects.

The design showcase winner will be announced Dec. 4 at the AIA Eastern Pennsylvania's annual President's Night Celebration.
