Oscar C. Ramer

Oscar C. Ramer, 86, of North Whitehall Township, died July 27, 2014, in Fellowship Community, Whitehall.

He and his wife Jane (Arnold) Ramer were married 64 years.

Born in Hokendauqua, he was a son of the late Oscar W. and Theresa (Mesics) Ramer.

A private first class in the Army Air Corps from 1945-47 during World War II, he earned a World War II Victory Medal.

He was the production control manager at Bally Ribbon Mills, Bally, for five years before retiring in 1993.

Previously, he worked in the same capacity for American Safety Equipment, Whitehall, for 30 years.

A member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, he was a member of Hokendauqua American Legion and Whitehall-Coplay AARP group.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter; Vicki and her husband, John Diorio, of Roseto; son Brad and his wife, Eileen, of Ambler; granddaughters Erika, Jill, and Kelli; and great-grandsons, Jackson and Griffin.

He was predeceased by brothers, William and John.
