Student art enriches city hall

A crowd gathered outside the Rotunda at 10 E. Church St. in North Bethlehem for the opening of the BASD Student Art Exhibition April 7. The displays were curated by the art teachers at BASD’s 22 schools, and arranged on boards organized by teacher and school.

High schoolers’ artworks were displayed at the entrance, and moving counterclockwise, elementary art and middle school art followed. Sculptures were displayed in tall cases by their respective school’s boards. The opening was crowded. Many of the art teachers were in attendance, and most of the students whose works were featured arrived with family members.

Angela Emili, elementary art teacher, explained “The Student Art Exhibition happens every three years, and we try to make sure at least one student from every grade level has their work included.”

The Student Art Exhibition will be in the Rotunda through May 14. You visit the Exhibition weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
