The Coplay Public Library will host Fun Fest at the library Saturday, Aug. 9.

The event, scheduled for 11 a.m.-3 p.m., features food, games face painting and yard sale and craft tables. The Abracadabra Magic Show is set for noon.

Children who participated in the summer reading program will receive their reading certificate plus a free hot dog.

Any child with a Coplay library card will receive a free snow cone.

About this time every year, some parents mention the need for school crossing guards particularly at Second and Chestnut streets, at least for the younger boys and girls.

The Whitehall-Coplay School District, however, has no plans to bring out crossing guards.
