As summer quickly races by, slow down and join the Catasauqua Garden Club.

Debbie DeSousa will show the group how to make living wreaths with succulents 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 6. The meeting will take place at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua.

Exhibitors are asked to have their potential prize winners in place by 12:45 p.m.

Garden friendly visitors are welcome to share refreshments and enjoy all things garden related.

The Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., Catasauqua, will be having a half-price sale on women's slacks, capris, shorts and swimwear, as well as men's slacks and shorts from Monday, Aug. 4 to Saturday, Aug. 9.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.

Donations of good used clean clothing are gratefully accepted during store operation hours.

Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.
