Why that college? I chose Dickinson because I wanted a small liberal arts college that had programs in english, music and writing. The atmosphere was very welcoming each time I visited and that in combination with the location in a small city made it a clear decision for where I wanted to spend my time.Major: English,music historyWhy this major? I chose these majors because they are both very important aspects of my life. I have always loved both reading and writing and I have been an active participant in music programs since the fourth grade and find the history behind the music I've played fascinating.College activities: I participate in the orchestra, clarinet ensemble, The Dickinsonian (newspaper) and I am a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society.Career goal: I intend to enter a career in journalism or publishing.Internship goal: My goal is to get firsthand experience working in a career field that I am considering seriously so that I have an even better plan for what I want to do after graduation. Being able to actually work with a paper is so much better than any information that can be obtained in a classroom.Advice to graduating high school seniors: Explore different options and take chances, don't limit yourself only to what you think is easily attainable.
