A new cutting-edge salon, Milano Styling Salon, opened recently in Coplay.

The salon, located at 1101 Chestnut St., Coplay, held its grand opening celebration May 10.

Mayor of Coplay Joseph Bundra showed his support for the local business by participating in a ribbon cutting ceremony at the opening.

The opening event was filled with many local supporters, salon staff members, friends, family and loyal clients.

Stefania Aiello, the salon owner, cut the ribbon with Bundra to celebrate the hard work and dedication that was involved in starting the business. The event also included coffee, desserts and raffles.

Aiello's mother, Patricia Aiello, coordinated the event.

Aiello is the daughter of Giovanni Aiello, the owner of Mario's Pizza Shop in Northampton.

After graduating from Whitehall High School in 2008, Aiello studied at the Empire Beauty School in Whiteall and in 2012 she continued her education at Up-To-Date Fashion Academy in Milan, Italy.

In Milan she worked with top stylists and fashion coordinators.

After studying internationally, Aiello felt it was time to settle down and do what she loves, making people look beautiful.

"I know it's so cliche, but ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be a hairstylist," she said. "My grandmother was a hairstylist as well, and growing up, I always watched and asked to help her."

The salon offers a complete menu of hair and styling services, including manicures, pedicures, shellac and waxing. It also offers professional hair products and gifts for every occasion.

Among the services the salon specializes in are weddings, prom updos, color, cuts and styling.
