Kiersten Unagnst of Whitehall was a member of the Hofstra Dance Team which took a second-place award at the 2014 Universal Dance Association national championships in Orlando, Fla. The team earned second place in the Division I Hip Hop and Double Jazz competition, as well as fourth-place for Division I Jazz, besides earning second place overall.

on dean's list

Alyssa Cardillo of Bath was named to the dean's list for the fall 2013 semester at Bucknell University. She is the daughter of James and Lori Cardillo and a 2010 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School.

Tejvinder Singh of Whitehall was also named to the dean's list for the fall 2013 semester. He is the son of Inderpal Chawla and Gurdeep Anand and a graduate of Whitehall High School.

To attain dean's list students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Resident attends national competition

Catasauqua resident Tyler Fatzinger was among the eight Pennsylvania College of Technology horticulture students who attended the Professional Landscape Network's Student Career Days competition in Fort Collins, Colo., in March.

Horticulture instructor Carl J. Bower Jr. and alumnus Ronald A. Burger accompanied the group to the "The Olympics of Landscaping," where students competed in events and attended workshops directly related to the skills they'll need to succeed in the industry.

The college was represented in 16 of 28 contests and finished 38th among 65 participating teams from colleges and universities that offer horticulture programs. Out of 743 students to compete overall, Fatzinger was 42nd. He is majoring in landscape/horticulture technology with a landscape emphasis

Ian Foley of Whitehall was awarded the inaugural McCole Foundation Scholarship. He is a senior communications and political science major.
