The Shade Tree Commission will hold its Annual Arbor Day Celebration April 26 at 10 a.m. in the large pavilion near the pool at the Catasauqua Park, Church and St. John streets.

Trees have been planted and will be dedicated in honor of all the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Catasauqua and a tree will be dedicated to the newest church in Catasauqua, Revolution Church.

Other dedications will be made including The Walk of Fame annual dedication.

Catasauqua has earned the Tree City USA Award for sixteen years from The Arbor Day Foundation. The public is invited to this outstanding community event, rain or shine.

On Friday, April 25, from 6-8 p.m., Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Fourth and Pine streets, will hold a basket raffle.

There will be attractively themed baskets, a large variety of gift certificates, flowers and other unique items. Winners will be notified by phone.

Proceeds benefit Trinity's Sidewalk Fund and a Diabetic Alert Dog for Matthew.

Catasauqua and North Catasauqua are planning the J4 celebration July 5 at the North Catasauqua Playground. The committee is asking for donations to help with the cost of the fireworks.

Anyone who gives a donation of $200 or more will be listed as a special donor. Those who donate between $100-199 will be listed as a red patron; those who give $50-99 will be listed as a white patron; and those who give $49 and under will be listed as a blue patron.

Make checks payable to the J4 committee and send them to J4 Committee, PO Box 212, Catasauqua, PA 18032.

Your name will be listed on a poster at the J4 celebration.
