Accordian sessions at VFW
Northampton VFW Post 4714 will host button-box accordion jam sessions Friday nights, 8-11 p.m., at the Post home, 1204 Main St.
Authentic Austrian-Hungarian and German polkas and waltzes will be performed by local favorites such as Joe Weber, Emil Shanta and other accompanying accordion players.
There is a $2 donation requested.

The Northampton Area Food Bank will hold a general meeting Tuesday, April 29 in the fellowship hall of Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave.
Dinner will be served 6-7 p.m. The menu includes hot dogs, turkey barbecue and drinks. Covered dishes and desserts are welcomed.
The business meeting will begin 7 p.m.

The Northampton Area Public Library, 1615 Laubach Ave., will close for remodeling 5 p.m. Thursday, April 17 and reopen 9 a.m. Monday, May 12. The Children's Room will close 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15.
No materials will be due while the library is closed. You are encouraged to visit the library now and stock up for the closing. Please do not use the book drop or media drop during that time.

The Friends of the Northampton Area Public Library will sponsor a chartered bus trip to Mutter Museum of Medical Oddities and the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia June 20.
The bus will depart promptly 8 a.m. from the Northampton Recreation Center, 1 Lerchenmiller Drive, and will arrive back at approximately 6 p.m.
The cost includes transportation and admissions.
For tickets, stop by the library. Seating is limited. The deadline to purchase tickets is June 5.

St. John's Friendly Fifties will meet Monday, April 14, 1 p.m., in the church's social hall, 1343 Newport Ave.
"Voices of Legends" with Eric Kearns will entertain.

Northampton's Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday, April 12, 11 a.m., at the municipal park, Smith Lane and Laubach Avenue. Rain date is Sunday, April 13, 1 p.m.
The event is open to borough children up to age 10. No registration is necessary. Prizes will be given to all participants.
