Trinity craft and vendor sale Sunday

Trinity United Church of Christ, Coplay, will hold a craft and vendor show this Sunday at the American Club of Coplay Pavilion, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

More than 30 crafters will be on display along with direct sales vendors.

Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.

The program last year moved to the American Club site to accommodate more vendors and crafters.

Longtime borough public works employee and Supervisor Rick Bundra completed his last day of work last Friday.

Bundra is taking some personal time before his official retirement set for April so he can attend to some personal matters.

The borough has not yet hired an individual to fill the public works department vacancy, although interviews with applicants have been held.

The feral cat committee will meet 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16 at the Samuel Owens Restaurant, Second and Chestnut streets.

The organization is looking for volunteers to serve on the committee.

If interested, contact Dennis Gery at 610-262-2045.

Cherry Street, from Keefer Street north to Stone Alley, has taken on the appearance of one huge pothole.

Borough crews are hard pressed to keep up with patching the potholes, from border to border. Cherry Street is on the borough's itinerary for repaving.

The fire department and the American Club of Coplay Pavilion located off the north end of Cherry Street utilize the street. Another street motorists argue is in need of repairs is South Front Street, between Coplay and Center streets.

Plans are being finalized for the Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association's annual community children Easter Egg Hunt.

The egg hunt is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19 at the St. Peter's Catholic Church lawn, Fifth St. Roger Rabbit will make an appearance and have his photo taken with the children.

The Sponsor A Banner deadline is quickly approaching. Organizations, individuals or families can sponsor a banner. Reports indicate more than 60 banners have been ordered.
