Two events get set for Relay for Life
A Bark for Life meeting is scheduled 10 a.m. March 8.
The Relay For Life of Whitehall is hosting a Bark for Life of Allentown/Whitehall 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17 at Cedar Beach. Bark For Life is a unique fundraising event created for owners and their dogs to participate in a mini-relay and to enjoy dog-focused activities, while honoring or remembering family members, friends and dogs affected by cancer. This is a fun event, which highlights everything dog-related.
So, who let the dogs out? We did! Won't you help us? We already know of 60 dog owners who will be registering their dogs and we have not officially started yet. There is a limit of 300 dogs. Please register now so as not to miss out on the event.
I encourage you to attend the March 8 kick-off meeting at Fellowship Community to learn more about the event and to register your dog. Forms are available at www.ShariNoctor.com. We need the community to help with the planning and implementation of this event. We are looking for cancer survivors and caregivers, sponsors, veterinarians, canine product companies, canine clubs, pet stores and all types of vendors.

A Power of Purple meeting is taking place March 11.
We invite all cancer survivors and their caregivers, all current and future teams, all committees and the general public to attend our Power of Purple meeting 7 p.m. March 11 at Fellowship Community. This energized meeting is to launch our Relay For Life of Whitehall. This 24-hour event takes place at the Whitehall High School football field, starting at noon June 20, and concluding at noon June 21.
We will be celebrating survivors and caregivers and remembering those who have fought bravely and lost their battle. We will be fighting back, so that no one has to ever hear the words, "You have cancer" again.
Our teams will be decorating tables with a "cancer never takes a holiday" theme and promoting their fundraisers. We will have gifts for survivors and caregivers. There will be food, games, prizes, fun and general camaraderie with everyone at this event. Everyone wearing purple will receive a gift. Please come and join us and find out what Relay for Life is all about.
We need the community's help organizing both the Bark and the Relay. Both events include all the residents and businesses in the Allentown, Catasauqua, Northampton and Whitehall-Coplay school districts.
Please come and join us for both of these highly energized meetings as we help people stay well, fight back and find cures. You won't be disappointed. Both meetings are held at Fellowship Community's auditorium, 3000 Fellowship Drive, Whitehall. Please call Shari Noctor, event chair, at 610-266-5241 with any questions.
